Notwithstanding its limited thickness, NPS® Rei S Beam is more rigid than an RC beam, and performs better on important bays. |
The self-bearing NPS® Rei S Beam with a mixed steel-concrete structure and a concrete footing, is patented for optimal coupling with slab ceilings, and allows fire-resistant decks to be realised with no protrusions from beneath according to Eurocode 2-2.
The metal structure, made of structural steel (UNI EN 10025-2) is made of one or more truss welded using metal active gas welding (Process UNI EN ISO 4063-135) according to NTC 2008 in force.
Lower chords are inserted in precast class C28/35 concrete footing (UNI EN 206-1:2006), and equipped with reinforcement and surface reinforcement sized to support the heavy load of the ceiling on the NPS® Rei S Beams.
Two galvanised metal profiles positioned on the sides of the beam and partially encapsulated in cast concrete act as housing for the ceiling and guarantee the lower surface in-plane.
Metal structure | Made of structural steel in conformity with UNI Standard UNI EN ISO 10025-2 |
Footing | C28/35 or higher class concrete (UNI EN 206-1:2006) designed and equipped with reinforcement and surface reinforcement. Two galvanised side metal profiles partially encased in cast concrete act as housing for the ceiling and guarantee the lower surface in-plane. |
Casting framework | C25/30 when not otherwise noted by the designer |
Self-supporting | Yes. NPS® Rei S Beam bears itself and the ceiling that rests on it, already from the moment it is placed on the column (1st phase), already before the formwork cast (2nd phase) |
Welding | Using metal active gas welding (Process UNI EN ISO 4063-135) according to NTC 2008 in force |
Mechanical resistance to fire ( R ) | Up to 120 minutes |
Standards referenced | In the 1st phase § 4.2 NTC 2008 and Eurocode 3 In the 2nd phase § 4.3 NTC 2008 and Eurocode 4 For anti-seismic § 7.6 NTC 2008 and Eurocode 8 |
Design | Elaborated with the System calculation procedure conforming to the current Standard, and signed by a qualified technician. |
Countable length | Distance between theoretic supports used in the calculation |
