Due to the very nature of the work, each span is extremely variable both in clearance and slope on the ground level. On one hand, the sheer size of the work: 10 lattice decks of mixed truss prefabricated beams 140 cm high with slab thickness 30 cm cast on site on pre-slabs, for an overall surface of 18,000 m2. On the other, the decidedly tight schedule: 90m days in all.
Next to this the decision to use BIM technology for the first time and the Tekla Structures software for best management of the various design stages, resulting in leaner processes and streamlined work flows. Standardisation of certain parts allowed us to gain technical timing in the various design stages.
